What to Expect at the Live Mermaid Show

So, how does Ripley’s Aquarium have a show featuring live mermaids? Some people might tell you that the mermaids are in fact professionally trained divers wearing 30 pound latex mermaid tails. However, it is entirely possible that the mermaids are genuine mythical creatures taking a vacation in the Smokies. Who knows for sure?

Whether the mermaids at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies are real or not, they certainly put on quite a show! Audiences will be delighted as the mermaids gracefully swim through a 20 foot deep tank that is loaded with undersea life. Be sure to attend the meet and greet before the performance so you can chat with the mermaids and pose for a photo with the stars of the show. Just imagine how excited your kids will be when they get a high five from a real live mermaid!
